Since I’ve left uni, I’ve felt rather stuck.
I only did a term because i felt that the environment and demand of an animation industry wasn’t for me. But I’m still a creative individual to an extent and i love hair.
Anyone who knows me knows that i change my hair colour too often, too the extent that they see a wig in my future And people always come to me for hair advice. I’m looking at you everydayimbored.
My mother, has always told me that there is an opportunity to go in to Hair dressing!
I already know how to wash hair, the ins and outs of a salon, a few trade secrets and i also know how to talk to customers. Since i had a saturday job.
I’ve been having trouble with employment because in the UK, people was experience, not qualifications. It’s fucking hard to get a job with just hair dresser’s assistant’s experience. Its such a pain in the arse to the extent that I’m getting miserable and depressed just thinking about it, and I’m usually quite the upbeat, confident and optimistic person. I suppose.
However i feel that if i do go in to this industry, (despite the fact i’ll learn fast because i’m mature) I’ll be wasting the time i put in to A levels.
Even though they’ll be an advantage when getting stylist jobs.
Really this post is to get my thoughts out. But i love the idea of it, and it’s a stable career that I’ll be happy with and even if i go freelance, i know I’ll get alternative customers and hopefully be preferred by them because i know what they want.
it’s also an industry that allows tattoos ;3
